Spring Break Thoughts + Snapchat

Hello!
(íslenska)

Yes, I am indeed alive though I’ve been a rather bad blogger (ok 11 days isn’t that bad is it?). Happy spring break if you’re on it! If you’ve already had yours and are back in reality, I am terribly sorry. I hope you have (or had) a good one. Spring’s definitely in the air here, though the weather is still a little confused and snows on us in between warm spells, but I’m sure that’ll stop soon enough.

My spring break tends to consist of relaxing, seeing family and, of course, chocolate. However since we’re staying here in Steinkjer for the break mostly what we’ve been doing has been relaxing. A lot. And chocolate. A lot. Though I did pop over to Sweden (which is always so funny to me as an islander. What do you mean I can just drive for an hour and be in a different country??) and do a bit of a food shop. I went with friends who also happen to be our neighbours and it was a good trip. For the rest of the break I plan on relaxing some more, eating a bunch of chocolate and do spring cleaning. I’m looking forward to doing a proper cleanse for the new season.

This week we got a bit of a care package from my dad, one of my favorite variety, containing Icelandic candy! There was a couple of packs of Þristar which are our favorite type of chocolate covered liquorice (an Icelandic classic, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it), a pack of my number one favorite candy in the world Nóa Kropp and of course, Icelandic Easter eggs. They didn’t quite survive the shipping in one piece, but they’re no worse for it. The Icelandic Easter eggs really are something else. Not only are they made of the best chocolate in the world (Icelandic, seriously, I promise I’m not biased) but they’re also filled with a variety of Icelandic candy, AND a piece of paper containing a classic Icelandic saying, usually a life lesson. Could it get any better? No. And I know I’m not one in saying that there’s no Easter without Icelandic Easter eggs.

Anyway, enough chattering already. What are you doing this spring break? Or did you already have yours? Do you celebrate Easter? Chat to me in the comments!

P.S. I’ve decided to add a snapchat account to accompany this blog. Most likely most of it will be in Icelandic, but if I get some requests I might do some of it in English. If you want to add me the username is beautyandnerd.
